The Sundial Bridge

Where I grew up in Redding CA their new claim to fame is the Sundial Bridge.

Grandpa and the older boys walking across the bridge.

My older monkeys climbing on a portion of the bridge.Another view of the bridge. It has been pretty smoky do to the fires here in California so the sun and moon have looked pretty intersting.

If you look closly you can see the smoke in the mountains, this was the view from the bridge. We could see a airplane and helicoptor that were working on the fires we saw a lot of fire trucks at certain hotels so you could tell were the out of town firefighters were staying.

It has been really hot here up in the 100's but it is dry rather than the humidity that we have gotten used to. But when we got underneath the bridge by the Sacramento River it was very cool and the boys enjoyed the water.

In our dinning room we had some pictures of this sculpture only they were up close so you really could tell exactly what it was. People often asked what it was so for those of you who were wondering this is what it looks like with the entire picture. This was also at the Sundial Bridge, we had a nice evening and boys got to run a lot which is always good.

Collin update

We didn't have a 1 month visit with a doctor because Our Dr said it wasn't nessecary (since we aren't going to be close to our normal insured Dr,but we will be going to the Dr at his 2 month and get his shots right before we fly out). We were curious as to what he weighed so we tried to weigh him on a food scale and a plastic bowl with which was hard to do and keep him balanced so here is a picture of Tys and his mom attempting to weigh him. After everything, we think he was about 10lbs 6oz but I don't know how acurate it really is but is was quite humerous trying to get him weighed.

Transition/Vacation

So we are officially homeless, carless and stuffless, we have sold our house and cars and all our stuff is on a boat headed to Singapore. We had a total of 8 check in bags 8 carry on bags (that is16 bags total) and 3 car seats and a stroller, remeber we are living out of our suitcases for 2 months. As I would sit and wait for Tyson to check on things or get a rental car I felt like I was sitting by the lost and found lugauge or something similar. You can image the stares we got when we were lugging around our 2 push carts of lugauge,a stroller and 2 boys pulling their own bags. All this at a time when most people are trying to cut down on lugauge do to the new charge for baggage on most airlines (thank goodness Southwest hasn't gone there yet).

We had a good time in Houston when the boys weren't fighting, this was most of the time unfurtunatly. Since Hayden had been there a whole week before we got there with Ashton we feel they were trying to make up for lost fighting time. We got to swim a lot, everyday at least once. We played card games and found out they really enjoy them. Hayden learned how to use Photoscape (the same program I use to make my collages) and enjoyed taking pictures and changing their appearences with the program.

Here is some of his work.

Unfortunately we did get many pictures while we were there. At least not very flatering pictures. Hayden got some pictures of us but most of them are blackmail worthy.

Fire?

So to add to the excitement in our lives there was a fire scare the last day at our hotel in Bartlesville. Tyson had taken the boys to the pool and I was trying to get some rest. The fire alarm kept going on and off. I finally just grabbed our "Life Bag" (the bag that had every important document we need in our life right now, our passports, the title to our last car to be sold, and all other financial and transfer documents) and headed to the pool to be with my family just incase something was really happening. When I got to the elevator I noticed smoke in the laundry room on our floor of the hotel. Once I got to the front desk I told the receptionist and not much later we had 3 firetrucks show up at the hotel. The small town feelof Bartlesville is so cool, after they found it wasn't a big deal they invited Ashton to come inside of the truck and even sit in the drivers seat. That is why Ashton is in his swim suit with his swim floaty, inside of the fire truck. Boy are we going to miss our little Bartlesville.
